AI in the future

Some of my emerging WIP on #AI and #ml like #ChatGPT and other generative tools like #dalle2 #stablediffusion:

1. Like with all new tools and tech, some industries will need to be rethought. Completely.

2. Jobs will be impacted. Including #design. Get yourself and your team's ready now with discussions about "how might these technologies change our work?" and be open about both the opportunities and the challenges of the future.

3. We will need deeper expertise to ensure quality of outcomes when these tools are deployed. Specialisation will need to increase because generalised pattens cannot anticipate information outside of its own model or consider nuance of these events on specific people/orgs/communities the same way as a human. i.e. Data does not equal insight.

4. We must be ready for second/third order impacts to this technology. i.e. we gain a deeper understanding of mechanisms of biology which leads to better more personalised drug delivery which could increase life expectancy which changes the way we view our lifespan and how governments need to set up programs. I know that's a big one - but it's very plausible.

5. I have a deep feeling this is a "one winner" per market/vertical until artificial general intelligence is obtained.

6. Our governments, society, etc are not set-up to deal with this rapid change. Look what social media did to the world in a decade.
