Salt River Fields is the most immersive Major League Baseball fan-experience in the world. The line of access between the players and the visitors are so blurred the fans often do a double-take when they are mere feet from their favorite all star players.
Spread over 140 acres, the 12 practice fields and 11,000 seat-stadium is home to the Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The facility was built by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and is the first spring training facility on Native American land.
Its sheer size and the unprecedented access created a need for a well-planned and executed wayfinding system. The implemented system encourages exploration and moves fans to experience all of the amenities, branded team areas, Community trails, and food options.
Below are just a few of the the many wayfinding signs that were developed to get people where they needed to go… and help them make the most of their visit while building a recognizable brand for the facility.
